Is this the official Game of Thrones family tree?
No. ASOIAF Lore is an unofficial fan project and is not affiliated with George R.R. Martin, his publishers, or HBO. The family trees are curated from the published books and their appendices, with cross-checking against credited fan-reference sources. They aim to be accurate but are not exhaustive — corrections are welcome.
Which houses are covered?
All seven great houses of Westeros: Stark, Targaryen, Lannister, Baratheon, Tyrell, Martell, and Greyjoy. Each house has its own interactive family tree page with a focused selection of major characters and their relationships. Additional subgraphs cover cross-house conflicts like the War of the Five Kings and Robert's Rebellion.
Does this cover the books or the TV show?
The family trees follow the book canon (A Song of Ice and Fire), not the HBO adaptation. The core family structures — Stark, Lannister, Targaryen lineages — are shared between both versions, but later-season show changes (such as omitted characters, merged storylines, or different relationship details) are not reflected here. The data is drawn from all five published novels and their appendices.
How complete is each family tree?
Each tree focuses on a curated selection of major and supporting characters — not every named member of the house across all eras. The goal is to make the core family structure clear and explorable, not to reproduce a wiki-style exhaustive listing. For full lineage details, the published appendices and fan wiki resources remain the best references.
Can I see how two characters are related?
Yes. Every character node in the interactive graphs is clickable. From a character's detail panel you can jump to their full relationship graph, or use the relationship page to search for specific connection paths between any two characters in the database.
What if I find an error?
Corrections are part of the project's method. If a relationship, name, or event is wrong, send the exact page URL and a book or appendix reference through the contact form. Every correction is reviewed before the dataset is updated.
