The character in context

Viserys flees Dragonstone with his sister as a child and binds his hopes of restoration to the identity of the 'true dragon.' He trades Daenerys's marriage to Drogo for an expected army, yet understands neither Dothraki custom nor her rising status. He repeatedly uses violence and royal language to control her. At Vaes Dothrak he draws a sword and threatens Daenerys and her unborn child, and Drogo gives him the molten-gold 'crown' he demanded. Exile wounds him, but it does not excuse treating his sister as property.
