ASOIAF Lore is a fan-built research tool, not an official encyclopedia. This page documents what the database contains, where each dataset comes from, and which claims still need review.

Profiles cover a selected set of major and supporting characters. English summaries were normalized from credited reference material and have not all been checked line by line against the novels. This is useful coverage, not a complete replacement for a wiki.
Edges are manually curated across 17 relationship types. Family, marriage, and explicit allegiance records are higher-confidence; interpretive social or conflict edges require more editorial judgment and remain open to correction.
The chapter index covers all five published main-series novels. A POV appearance means the character is the confirmed viewpoint for that chapter; it is a minimum confirmed appearance, not a word-frequency or full-cast count.
The timeline currently contains a curated selection of key events. It is intentionally described as a partial chronology and does not yet claim to include every event in ASOIAF history.
The published books and their appendices are the primary canon reference. The following fan and open-data resources help with normalization and cross-checking.
Used for selected text summaries, chapter terminology, and cross-checking. Text attribution follows the wiki's CC BY-SA notice; image licenses are separate and are not assumed to match the text license.
Used to cross-check structured book, house, character, and POV identifiers. The project publishes its source and license on GitHub.
Used only as a terminology reference for Chinese and English name mapping. The published Chinese editions remain the preferred authority for final translations.
ASOIAF Lore is unofficial and is not affiliated with George R. R. Martin, his publishers, or HBO. A Song of Ice and Fire names and story elements belong to their respective rights holders. Where wording is adapted from a licensed source, that source is credited and its terms continue to apply.
If a relationship, chapter label, translation, or event summary is wrong, send the exact page URL and a book or appendix reference. Corrections are reviewed before the dataset is updated.
