Tyrion Lannister

Resourcefulness and family power

Contains spoilers through A Dance with Dragons. Television events and unfinished preview chapters are outside this collection.

The character in context

Tywin and Joanna’s youngest child benefits from Lannister wealth while facing hostility within his family. As acting Hand, he helps organize the defense of King’s Landing, but victory does not secure his position. Accused after Joffrey’s death, he escapes imprisonment, kills Shae and Tywin, and flees to Essos. His political resourcefulness coexists with resentment and destructive choices.
