The character in context

Quentyn carries a secret marriage pact east on Doran’s behalf, hoping to secure Daenerys and her dragons. The journey costs companions, and he arrives to find that Meereen’s politics demand another marriage. Unwilling to return empty-handed, he attempts to master a dragon after Daenerys disappears and suffers terrible burns. He dies three days later, leaving Barristan to arrange the return of his remains. His story traces how duty and fear drive an ordinary young man toward a danger he cannot control.
