The character in context

Margaery, Mace Tyrell’s daughter, marries Renly, then Joffrey, and finally Tommen. These marriages place her at the centre of the Tyrell alliance with the crown and bring her into conflict with Cersei. She cultivates Sansa’s friendship and a public presence in King’s Landing. Accusations of adultery engineered by Cersei lead to her detention by the Faith. With the evidence challenged, she is released into Randyll Tarly’s custody pending trial. Its outcome remains unresolved in A Dance with Dragons.
