The character in context

Lysa, Catelyn’s sister and Jon Arryn’s widow, protects her son Robert and keeps the Vale out of her family’s war. Her letter blames the Lannisters for Jon’s death, but she later admits before Sansa that she poisoned him at Petyr’s urging. Marrying Petyr seems to promise the relationship she has long desired. Instead, he pushes her through the Moon Door, exposing the connection between private attachment and public accusation.
