The character in context

The only daughter of Lord Tytos Lannister and younger sister of Tywin, Genna Lannister was betrothed at age seven to Emmon Frey—an unequal match against which only young Tywin spoke out, winning her lifelong respect. Sharp-witted and commanding, she assumed a maternal role for Tywin's children following Joanna's death, though Tywin refused to speak with her for half a year after she observed that Tyrion was his true son. Granted Riverrun alongside Emmon after the Red Wedding, she urged executing Edmure Tully to extinguish rival claims before staying behind to garrison the captured stronghold.
