The character in context

Aerys II’s exiled daughter grows up with her brother Viserys. After Drogo’s death, she enters his funeral pyre and three dragons hatch. Her campaign against slavery brings her to Slaver’s Bay, where she chooses to remain in Meereen and govern. Violence, economic disruption and political compromise test the promise of liberation: winning a city and ruling it pose different problems.
