The character in context

Daemon was the brother of Viserys I, later husband of Rhaenyra, and father of Aegon III and Viserys II. The five main novels preserve him chiefly through descendants, brief echoes of the Dance, and the historical shadow of the Rogue Prince rather than a continuous characterization. Later histories provide far more detail about his marriages, campaigns, and death, so this entry does not present charisma or a heroic ending as facts established by the novels.
