The character in context

Born a Tully and married to Eddard Stark, Catelyn is the mother of five children. During the war she advises Robb while seeking her daughters’ safety, releasing Jaime into Brienne’s care to secure their return. At the Red Wedding she sees Robb murdered before her own throat is cut. Restored to life, she leads members of the brotherhood as Lady Stoneheart. Her pursuit of vengeance brings Brienne before an ultimatum: kill Jaime or face execution.
