Aemond Targaryen

A prince visible through sparse retrospective evidence

The character in context

Aemond was a son of Viserys I and Alicent Hightower and the younger brother of Aegon II. In the five main novels he receives only a brief direct echo in Tyrion's reference to the one-eyed prince; his dragon, campaigns, and death are developed chiefly in later chronicles. This entry therefore treats the surrounding chapters as a retrospective trail into the Dance, not as three direct biographies of Aemond.
