Aegon IV
Aegon the Unworthy
Character Overview
Aegon IV is remembered as the Unworthy. He publicly humiliates Queen Naerys and his heir Daeron, turning appetite, favoritism and family grievance into instruments of rule. Although he gives Blackfyre to his bastard son Daemon, he never formally disinherits Daeron. On his deathbed Aegon legitimizes all his bastards, leaving a succession dispute that later becomes the Blackfyre rebellions. The five novels preserve accusations about Daeron's parentage as political claims, not established fact.
