Aegon I founded the Targaryen monarchy and survives in the five main novels as the Conqueror, rider of Balerion, and maker of the Iron Throne. Daenerys, Tyrion, and Eddard inherit fragments rather than a continuous life story, so his main-series presence is best read as a founding symbol: dragonfire created one realm while fixing conquest at the center of royal legitimacy.
